How boredom helps children’s play and development

Boredom is fantastic for children’s play. This short video talks about how boredom helps child development.

Boredom is actually fantastic for children, because when they’re able to push through the boredom that's when there’s a huge amount of creative thinking and imaginative capacity and problem solving that happens, as well as a sense of being able to rely on themselves and resilience in getting through something that’s a little bit stressful and a little bit tough, but it’s not the end of the world. So, actually providing times where you’re not entertaining children all the time and perhaps they do get a little bit bored and they’re able to work through that is excellent for children.
